Chip Ganassi Racing Takes Another Grand-Am Crown on Bosch

The Chip Ganassi Racing dynamic duo of co-drivers Scott Pruett and Memo Rojas won the 2012 Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series championship Saturday at Lime Rock Park in Connecticut bringing Bosch their record 42nd straight American GT road racing crown. A seventh-place finish Saturday was good enough to take Ganassi's Telmex Riley-BMW to the team's six Grand-Am title. Pruett, the winningest driver in series history, and Rojas shared their third straight Rolex crown and the fourth title in five years. Ricky Taylor and Max Angelelli won the season finale at Lime Rock Park driving their SunTrust Corvette DP and completed another perfect season for Bosch-equipped winners in the series' primary Daytona Prototype Class. The Bosch-equipped AIM Autosport Ferrari 458 won the 2012 Grand-Am GT Class title with Jeff Segal and Emil Assentato sharing the drive.

Tyson Racing scored a one-two sweep running a pair of Bosch-equipped Mazda-powered prototypes in the Grand Prix of Baltimore Saturday on a street circuit in the American Le Mans Series. Co-drivers Eric Lux and Michael Marsal won the race while a second Tyson Racing entry driven by Chris Tyson and Guy Smith finished second. The GT Challenge Class race at Baltimore went to The Racer's Group Porsche 911 GT3 Cup running on Bosch components and driven by Al Carter and Patrick Pilet.

The dynamic duo of Guy Smith and Chris Dyson co-drove to victory Saturday at beautiful Road America in the closest finish in the history of the American Le Mans Series of endurance road racing. Driving a Dyson Racing Lola-Mazda equipped with a variety of Bosch components, Smith guides the prototype racer to the win by just 0.083 of a second for the record finish. The team started 34th on the grid and took over the lead on the 22nd lap of this four-hour event. The ALMS GT Class win at Road America went to Bill Auberlen and Jorge Muller driving a Bosch-equipped BMW M3.

Defending series champion co-drivers Scott Pruett and Memo Rojas logged their second Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series victory of the season Saturday at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve for another road racing series win on Bosch racing components and systems. The win at the Montreal 200 was the 150th victory for Chip Ganassi Racing in all forms of motorsports, most of which were turned in on Bosch. They were driving a Riley-BMW in the primary Daytona Prototype Class of the Grand-Am Series. Alex Gurney and Jon Fogarty finished second in Montreal driving their Gainsco Bob Stallings Racing Corvette DP.

Bosch added two more endurance road racing victories to their ledger Saturday at the famed Watkins Glen International circuit when the Grand Am Rolex Sports Car Series made its annual stop in the rolling hills of upstate New York. The Starworks team of Bosch-equipped Riley-Ford prototypes finished first and second in the Daytona Prototype Class of Saturday's six-hour endurance event. Ryan Dalziel and his new co-driver Lucas Luhr won by less than a second over their teammates Sebastien Bourdais and Alex Popow to nail down the 1-2 finish for the Starworks team. It was the second straight win for a Starworks car after Bourdais led a victory at Indianapolis in the previous race. In the Grand Am GT Class, it was Bill Auberlen and Paul Dalla Lana co-driving a Bosch-equipped Turner Motorsports BMW M3 to the victory. Auberlen led the final 27 laps to notch the win on Bosch.
